I do have a suggestion though, seeing it isn't finished yet and all: Try making the blacks even blacker! You'll see it'll give the drawing an extra punch! :P

2007-08-06 [Adaria_Moonlight]: I think I'm happy with the level of darkness achieved with the HB pencil, actually. I tried working on it with a softer pencil, and I didnt like the texture I was getting with the paper. If I had used a finer grain paper it would probably have worked better. I'm planning on picking up a new sketch book before I head back to Edmonton. I gave one as a gift a little while ago and really liked the paper quality. Not that I really need another sketch book... (have 6 on the go as it is)

2007-08-09 [Adaria_Moonlight]: Actually, they don't seem to smear any more than graphite, on a quick test. For the most part, they seem excellent. Unfortuantely, they don't seem to want to go over the graphite I've already laid down very smoothly. So I think I may be SOL for this drawing, but I think I'm still going to keep them for future use. *nods*

2008-10-22 [Talkris]: The carbon pencils won't go over the graphite ones because graphite is actually used as a lubricant in machines. It's a very slick material. It binds fine with paper, but trying to get anything else to bind to it is hard as hell.

2009-01-14 [Adaria_Moonlight]: Thank you sweetheart, and yes, He -was- a lot of work, but worth it. I still need to try and get a good finished photo of him with my new camera.. I think the sealant and the fact that it's a bit shiny (even though it's supposed to be matte) is the problem. Everything will get the "finished" photo -before- sealant from now on :oP Live and learn, right?

Making the right photograph of objects is superduper hard, especially shiny things, so good luck with that! I know that "matte" sealant problem, I use matte sealant/coating on my paintings, and it ALWAYS has a sheen. I really dislike that! XD
